Spotlight on Philanthropy: Jill Poretta '93
Jill Poretta '93 was honored for her service to the College at the Association of Fundraising Professionals
breakfast on November 13 in celebration of National Philanthropy Day. Jill has been a dedicated supporter of the Office of Development and
Jill Poretta earned a B.A. in political science from Muhlenberg in 1993. As a student, she was a member of the field hockey team and Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Jill received her J.D. from the City University of New York and is a member of the NJ Bar. She is currently employed at the Philadelphia firm of Cozen O’Connor as the Manager of the Library and Research Department.
Jill has been an enthusiastic volunteer. She served as the Co-Chair of her 10th and 15th Reunion Committees, and has since taken on the position of Fund Chair. In this role, she writes solicitation letters, reaches out to classmates to support Muhlenberg and identifies ways for fellow alumni to become more engaged with the College. Jill was the driving force behind her class’s very successful 20th Reunion. Under her leadership, the Class of 1993 increased their total giving by $4,000 and participation rose from 11% to 21% over the past year. She has also demonstrated her commitment by making a gift for 11 consecutive years.
Most importantly, Jill is well-liked and respected by her classmates, and they admire her dedication to the College. Her posts to her class’s Facebook page receive overwhelming support in terms of views, likes and comments. Jill is humble in her accomplishments, crediting them to fellow committee members.
Muhlenberg College is grateful to count Jill Poretta ’93 as one of our most dedicated volunteers. We honor and thank her for her outstanding service to her alma mater.
