Our Mission: The mission of the Young Alumni Council (YAC) is to be a liaison for young alumni to the greater Muhlenberg community. We will connect alumni within their first ten years of graduation to one another and to opportunities to give back to the College.
Our Purpose: YAC aims to be a resource for Muhlenberg alumni in their first decade after graduation. Support provided includes: career networking, service opportunities, regional one on one alumni connections and fun reasons to come home to 'Berg.
Expectations of Class Representatives:
1 Campus visit per year
Attend 2 alumni events a year
Participation in at least 1 all-alumni campaign or event (i.e. #MuleMentum, THAW, Homecoming)
Maintain annual giving to The Muhlenberg Fund in any amount
Attend Volunteer Summit - Spring 2016
Participate in the student mentor program
Commit to a 2-year term
Past Young Alumni Council Events
Move-In Day - Our YAC volunteers took part in the annual freshman move-in tradition by greeting new families in their cars while they waited to move into the dorms.
First-Year Orientation - Young Alumni Council members and the Cardinal Key Society hosted the annual Candlelighting Ceremony followed by trivia where teams got to know each other and 'Berg. All trivia questions were developed by members of YAC.
Alumni Weekend - YAC was back on campus to celebrate Homecoming at some great young alumni events.
Reality MC - Young alumni gathered for this annual networking session to help current seniors practice their networking skills and make new connections.
Toast Heard Around the World - Members from all over the world joined in or hosted a THAW event to toast 'Berg and kickoff the New Year. Events took place from New York to Los Angeles to Israel and many places in between!
Welcome to the City - YAC both hosted and attended a variety of events hosted by our Alumni Clubs in New England, New York City, North Jersey, Lehigh Valley, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles.
Dr. Sam Laposata Farewell Tour 2013 - YAC co-sponsored Dr. Laposata's visits to three cities.
