Muhlenberg Match Challenge

DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT here & now
A COMMITMENT TO ACCESSIBILITY &
A WORLD-CLASS EXPERIENCE

CLOSING THE AFFORDABILITY GAP here
IT'S ABOUT ACCESSIBILITY

The demand for financial aid is growing, and each year, Muhlenberg runs out of scholarship and grant funds before the College runs out of needy students. This year, 87 percent of the Class of 2017 is receiving institutional grant and scholarship aid (up from 83% last year for the Class of 2016). As the affordability gap widens, Muhlenberg College's commitment to providing scholarships and financial aid only gets stronger.

We see access to higher education as the ultimate democratic value, and to prove it is a top priority, the College has set aside $11 million and is offering an extraordinary challenge: Muhlenberg will provide a 1:1 match to any new outright gift or signed multi-year pledge of a minimum of $25,000 to establish an endowed scholarship. The maximum amount to be matched to any single fund is $250,000.

ENHANCING THE MUHLENBERG EXPERIENCE here
MEETING THE FUTURE WITH CONFIDENCE

Again and again, we hear from alumni whose lives were transformed by their Muhlenberg experience. A large part of that experience comes from the robust range of opportunities  Muhlenberg offers students, such as internships, study abroad and student research, as well as specialized programming made available through departments like The Career Center and the Academic Resource Center.

Because these enrichment opportunities are so important, the College will also match any newly created endowed funds to support the areas of student enrichment mentioned above, as well as many others.

THINK YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO ENDOW A SCHOLARSHIP?
DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT now

Remember that pledges can be made over five years. In addition, if a family or small group of up to five friends or relatives are willing to sign commitment forms totaling $25,000 or more over the five years to create a scholarship fund, those will also be eligible for the match. Further, matching gifts from an employer or organization may be applied to the portion being contributed from the donor(s) and will be matched by the College, if the minimum amount is reached.

Endowed scholarships help students in perpetuity. By establishing one, you will ensure that top-notch students have access to the Muhlenberg experience for generations to come.
